22 Jul Moments from K premiere 6.8.2020
In her new dance piece, Moments from K, choreographer Mia Malviniemi looks at people’s relationships with a place, the city and nature. The choreography is built around notions of how the aesthetics and the lived experience of a certain place, a city or nature influence and shape the way we are. Past and the present meet in the piece through movement, sound, music and space.
The group will be working for two weeks during July and August at the Kokkola City Hall in Dance All Year long project’s residency. The piece is realised in collaboration with the Central Ostrobothnian chamber orchestra. Mia Malviniemi and Nanna Rahikainen dance in the piece. The music is composed by Ralf Nyqvist. The musicians Teija Pääkkönen, Annica Brännkärr, Ari Hanhikoski and Ulla Lampela play in the quartet.
Performances are on Thursday the 6.8.2020 at 18:00 and 20.00. At the City Hall, Kokkola. The performances is free.
